To express their thoughts in Russian, students should have language resources in their active vocabulary, the consolidation of which in memory is advisable based on the skills of their native language. The most important role in teaching students a non-native language is played by transfer, which is one of the central categories of psychology. Russian and Chinese mentalities have different, sometimes opposite features, which make it difficult for Chinese students to learn Russian. The phenomenon of transfer occurs and exists during language contact regardless of the will and desire of bilinguals. As a result of the transfer phenomenon, interference and its cause are that certain areas in the linguistic picture of the world are preserved, to which the proverb and phraseology belong. The authors believe that proverbs should be attributed to the category of fixed expressions of the language and studied from the standpoint of general, particular, and comparative phraseology.

The similarity between the languages is explained by their origin from the same proto-language. The aim of this study was to analyze the existing linguistics approaches to the classification of Germanic languages, in particular, varieties of the English language, using the genealogical approach that underlies the classification of related languages. The research methods were comparative-historical method and classification method. In the course of the study, a comparative historical analysis of the English language was carried out and its etymology was established starting from the moment of its inception and ending with its modern state. It has been found that modern English has a very complex phonetic and grammatical structure which is the result of the fusion, struggle, one-sidedness or spread of at least twelve languages. The practical significance of the study is determined by the fact that the compiled classification of dialects can be used in the preparation of educational literature for learning English.

The article examines the main challenges and common mistakes that may occur during the translation of culture-bound vocabulary. The article is aimed to identify the nature and reasons for national and cultural deviations in the Russian translation of the novel “Twilight” by Meyer. Research methods are focused on a comprehensive research methodology: descriptive, comparative, and conceptual analysis. The authors applied both traditional and linguocognitive approaches to investigate culture-bound elements of the original novel “Twilight”, and therefore, to explain the reasons for discrepancies found in its Russian translation. The practical value of the article is determined by the fact that the material worked out in the research can be used in lecture courses on the general and partial theory of translation, and seminars on literary translation practice. Research findings have proved that reaching success in linguocultural translation largely depends on the ability of a translator to understand implicit information and apply adequate translation techniques to convey the national identity of the source text.

The construction of a system of national literature is based on an understanding of the meaning of the language form and its adaptation to the area where literary creativity is developing. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that it is necessary to highlight the directions of the locality of texts and their formalization in the space of a geographical nature. The novelty of the study is determined by the fact that the connection between the locality of a text and the geographical basis is considered as the foundation for the formation of the literary tradition and as a formalization of previously known social processes. The article reveals the features of the literary heritage of M. Zhumabayev and its influence on the formation of the modern literary Kazakh language. The practical significance of the study is determined by the fact that the local text is considered within the framework of a general understanding of the problems of national literature.

The definition of a person as a unit of the social environment in literature is reflected directly through the development of a model of a person and in lyrics, where a person is presented as an image. All the imagery of literature is based on the aspirations of a person, on their achievement of a stable state. In literature, it is the happiness of a person, and their tranquillity is defined as the ideal to which any creature aspires. Al-Farabi proceeds from the fact that happiness can be fulfilled not only through a miracle but also through the work of the person themselves. The study defines that a person and their happiness in the lyrics of Al-Farabi take the place of a concept that is secondary to the current reality. The practical significance of the study is determined by the possibility of applying the methods of linguistic analysis to determine the linguistic content of the works of Al-Farabi's contemporaries.

Worldview, especially the cultural worldview, is one of the most important aspects in the sphere of intercultural communication. The given research is devoted to considering the linguocultural aspect of the cultural worldview of the East and the West and the creation of the linguocultural map of the two civilizations through the worldview of students. The worldview can be studied by comparing it with the culture of a foreign language. The study of the ways on which the concept of association is based is one of the most important aspects of comparing the cultural image of different languages. Due to the intensification of the East and West dialogue in the cultural worldview, the creation of a linguocultural map would give more opportunities to study the actual issues of intercultural communication. It is possible to identify cultural and cognitive stereotypes of young people of Kazakhstan, to learn more about worldview and culture, especially national values.

Great novels are always born out of an obsession that has been overcome. This is René Girard’s summary of what he considers the most important project in all the fiction. Scientific novelty of this study is determined by the fact that Girard not only follows his early observation but also has been supporting and developing it for fifty years. This observation made in his first book, “Deception, Desire, and Novel”, lays the foundation for a theoretical background for his further work. This structure is mimetic theory. It deals with the phenomenon of mimetic desire in both literal and non-literal ways. The practical relevance of the study is determined by the fact that, according to Girard’s work, there is no more suitable tool for overcoming mimetic obsession than fiction. Girard referred to his collection of favorite novels and dramas while insisting that literature is no longer that significant for him as it has been before.

Human activity can be manifested in linguistic reflection that makes it possible to recognize the individual linguistic arguments and the structure of the language. It is also an instrument for the formation of individual’s linguistic etiquette depending on the person’s consideration of the language norms. The authors aimed to determine the features of the language reflection process. In the course of the work, special literature was studied, and different points of view on the definition of reflection were analyzed. The authors agree with the view that there are three types of reflection, such as simple, scientific, and philosophical. As a result of the study, the following prerequisites to determine language reflection were identified: language and thinking, language consciousness, language culture, the culture of thought, the development of language and consciousness, respect for the native language, ability to express themselves properly in any environment, respect for the milieu, and accountability for mental and emotional activities.

This study investigates the originality of Alimzhanov’s aesthetic position, which is largely determined by the nature of the writer's understanding of the new scientific paradigm developed between the 20th century and the first third of the 21st century. Elements of the aesthetic system of classical Kazakh and Russian literature played a crucial part in the development of Alimzhanov’s ontology. Anuar Alimzhanov’s aesthetic position is a return to folk origins and his spiritual heritage, which conditioned the interest of the authors of this study in investigating the issues of foreign ethno-cultural aesthetic foundations and resources in artistic creativity, including the unconscious poetic element. Describing the myth, the authors of the study note its imagery, which is inherent in art. An important notion in Alimzhanov’s concept of being is value in its ethical aspect. Alimzhanov asserts the ontological independence of the past, which is the reason that the writer often acknowledges the proximity of the recollected world with the relevance of the humanistic values of the present.

The relevance of the problems of ideology, patriotism, and national identity, the manipulation of consciousness is gaining a new reflection in the conceptual picture of the world and society. This scientific article is devoted to the study of concepts in the public speeches of American and Kazakh politicians. The issues of political linguistics are becoming an increasingly relevant research object for many linguists. The purpose of the scientific article is to identify and consider methods of language representation and implementation of the system of concepts in the speeches of the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the president of the United States of America. Using content analysis, we identified a system of concepts in the president’s inaugural speech. An analysis of the concepts of the political picture of the world revealed and understood the target orientation of speech influences, the motives, and the true meaning of the statements of political figures, shedding light on the nature and essence of political processes.
